The Shiraz (at 320m elevation) vines run east-west on a light gradient protected from the afternoon sun. This is potentially the warmest daytime vineyard site in the Eden Valley, the nights however are very cold. The soils are deep, sticky red clays, mixed with ironstone\/limestone and some scattered quartz. These elements help produce black \u0026amp; purple fruits, dried herbs and very fine, structural tannins with great natural acidity.\u003cspan style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eThe clone \u0026amp; age of the vines and late vintage ripening mean the stems can add wonderful structure, freshness \u0026amp; spice to the wine.
