The Contrarian 2016
The Contrarian is a single vineyard Shiraz. I am proud to offer this 2016 wine from the original 2010 Greenock site. Greenock’s unique character comes mainly from the vineyard’s red clay and bluestone geology. This creates a lovely blue-fruited nose and enough tannin weight to be driven by fruit quality and not oak.

“Love the aromatics on display here. There are notes of elderberries, violets and licorice, as well as richer nuances of meat and brambleberries with hints of ivy. The acidity is the big driving factor, carrying the fullbodied palate through layers of grippy tannins to the long, chewy finish. Drink in 2020.” 94 PointsJames Suckling/Nick Stock
“...oldest vineyard...54 year old vines in Greenock...Dare I say it, the Rhône expression of Shiraz...Drink 2018-2027+” 93 PointsGary Walsh – The Wine Front
