Old Vine 2023
Grenache
Tasting Notes
“Medium red with purple tints in the rim, the bouquet sweetly fragrant, raspberry confections, boiled lolly, bonbon, with a patina of dried herbs, while the palate is intense and backed by fine, emery-like tannins that dry the finish. Good length. An elegant, mid-weight, fruit-driven style with the potential to build more charm in time and has the backbone to cope with quite hearty foods.” 93 PtsHuon Hooke – The Real Review
“I’m thinking raspberry, red liquorice, mint, ginger biscuits, curry spice, and a sort of rose oil perfume. It’s medium-bodied, a bit sappy and amaro-laced, almond is in the mix, and it’s quite spicy too, with something of a mulchy character and poached strawberries. Sooty tannin is a thing. The finish has some blood orange tang and bitterness, but gee, it’s wine that presents a cooler expression of Barossa Grenache.” 91 PtsGary Walsh – Wine Front
